Unlike other virtual comps, we want to see your EDITED masterpiece. Film as many times as you like, cut and blend clips, move the camera, add effects - whatever it takes to create your dream Instagram reel!

Rules & Guidelines
How It Works
STOP THE SCROLL!
Reel Artistry is a virtual pole & aerials competition focused on overall production, final impact, and wow factor.
This is a competition for edited Instagram reels. Film as many times as you'd like, cut and blend clips, move the camera, add effects - whatever it takes to bring your masterpiece to life.
All video submissions that meet the entry requirements & judging criteria will be posted to our Instagram page @reelartistry_comp. All Instagram posts will be collaborated.
Semi-finalist will be decided based on engagement, with points allocated for each like, comment, share, and repost. For more information on scoring, please see the "Voting" section below.
The top 10 most-engaged videos from each category will move on to the semi-finals.
On the 21st of November all semi-finalist videos will be shown via livestream, with our expert judges joining. The judges will award 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places for each category. Each placing video will move on to the finals - putting them in the running to win the Stop The Scroll Awards.
Public voting for the Stop the Scroll Awards will take place from the 21st through the 24th of November. The Stop the Scroll Awards will be given to the most-engaged pole video and most-engaged aerial video out of the finalists. Dance flow videos will be categorised based on apparatus. Each Stop the Scroll winner will receive $500AUD and an Instagram shoutout.
Entries
Complete Your EntryVideo entries will be open from Monday the 28th of September through Sunday the 1st of November. Worldwide submissions are accepted.
Entries will be posted to the @reelartistry_comp Instagram from the time of submission, so the earlier you enter, the longer your video is up for voting! All Instagram posts will be collaborated.
Entries must meet the following guidelines:
- 60-90 seconds
- 9:16 ratio
- 1080x1920 resolution or higher
- Credits provided for performer, editor, videographer, & space

Entry videos cannot be posted anywhere prior to the Stop The Scroll Award announcements on the 25th of November.
Please upload your video to an online drive (eg. DropBox or Google Drive) and include the access link on your entry form.
There is a non-refundable $35AUD entry fee that must be paid via PayPal to complete your entry.
Full AI productions will not be accepted. AI can be used for effects and transitions but cannot be used to generate video content, including performers and backgrounds.

GENERAL RULES & GUIDELINES
No trick restrictions in any category/level.
Groups are allowed in all levels and categories. Groups with mixed-level members can enter as amateur unless any member is an instructor or the group has competed at a semi-pro/pro level.
Multiple entries are allowed.
Dance flow category submissions must still use either a pole or aerial apparatus. Tricks are not judged, but use of the apparatus while dancing is - from the floor and/or aerially.
All styles of dance are accepted for the dance flow category, including hard style, flow, old school, etc.
All aerial apparatuses are allowed. Flying/aerial poles will be judged in the aerial category.
Genitalia, nipples, and perianal region must be covered at all times for all genders.

Voting
Voting for the semi-finalists and for the Stop The Scroll Awards will be done via engagement. Points will be allocated as follows:
- Like = 1pt
- Comment = 1pt
- Share = 2pts
- Repost = 3pts
Entries will be posted from the time of submission, so the earlier you enter, the longer your video is up for voting for the semi-finals.
Finalist videos will be reposted on the 21st of November, with public voting for the Stop the Scroll Awards taking place from the 21st through the 24th of November.
Stop the Scroll Award winners will be announced on the 25th of November.

FAQs
Can I vote for myself?
Yep, all engagement will be counted as a vote, so feel free to like, comment, share, and repost your own entry as much as you'd like.
Can I enter the dance flow category as a soloist and as a group?
Absolutely! You can enter as many times as you'd like in as many categories as you'd like, provided that you still meet the eligibility criteria.
Are there costume restrictions?
Genitalia, nipples, and perianal region must be covered at all times for all genders. Otherwise, the world is your oyster!
I want to do hardstyle but the category says dance flow - is this allowed?
Yes! All dance styles are permitted under the Dance Flow category.
How long can people vote after entries close?
Voting will remain open for 1 week after entries close, until the 8th of November.
What if my Instagram account is private?
Not a problem! We will still be able to post and collaborate with you. People who don't follow you will still be able to see the post from our page, but not from yours.
I'm an aerialist - how are basework tricks judged in the dance flow category?
Basework will be applicable to Dance Flow entries using a pole. Aerial entries in the Dance Flow category will be judged on how they use the apparatus within their choreography, from the floor and/or aerially.
How is production judged?
Production will be judged on the overall cohesion of the edited video. It's all about enhancing the performance, not distracting from it. Think -
- thematic lighting that suits the mood of the performance
- filming that frames the performer(s) in a way that matches the overall style
- complementary cuts and transitions
- music that fits with both the theme and the movements
- video quality of 1080x1920 resolution or higher
Can I enter a dance routine without an apparatus?
No. While we love our entire dance community, Reel Artistry is strictly for pole & aerials.
Do I have to film my piece in a studio?
No, you can film your piece outdoors or any other place you choose as long as you're still using an apparatus.
